Analysis shows problematic background on 3% of used trucks
A RigDig study of truck history reports ran by customers during the five months ending Sept. 3 showed 2.9 percent of the trucks had been flagged as junk, salvage or having a serious issue, such as fire or flood damage.
The reporting service has partnered with the Department of Justice’s National Motor Vehicle Title Information System to integrate information from junk and salvage yards, vehicle recyclers, insurance carriers and state titling agencies. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is RigDig’s primary source of federally recordable accidents, post-accident inspections, inspection violations, carrier information and Compliance, Safety, Accountability scores.
RigDig is offering each customer three free truck history reports on Commercial Truck Trader listings from Oct. 1 through Nov. 30. The service is dedicated exclusively to the used truck market and is in partnership with CTT and another sales outlet, Wholesale Industrial Network.
RigDig is owned by Equipment Data Associates, a division of Randall-Reilly, the publisher of Successful Dealer.
