Daimler truck boss: truck sales will surpass passenger cars by 2020

Driving by demand overseas, global truck sales could outpace registration of new passenger cars by the end of the decade according to Daimler Truck chief Wolfgang Bernhard.

Bernhard said at a conference last week, truck sales could grow 50 percent by 2020, compared with anticipated 40 percent growth in passenger cars in the same period.

“These are growth rates we currently cannot even dream of in Europe,” Bernhard said according to Reuters.
