Demand for Volvo branded trucks continues to be strong

North American deliveries from the Volvo Group’s truck operations jumped 13 percent in May, the company reported Wednesday.

Demand in North America continued to be good for Volvo-branded trucks, and deliveries increased by 12 percent to 2,706 vehicles in comparison with the same period last year.

Deliveries of Mack trucks rose 15 percent in May to 2,051 units, compared to 1,778 the same month the year before.

Year-to-date, North American demand for Volvo Group trucks is up 40 percent from last year, jumping from 16,172 units in 2013 to 22,591 this year. Volvo-branded trucks are leading the charge, up 50 percent from last year and jumping from 8,739 units in 2013 to 13,151.

Mack deliveries are up 31 percent, from 7,184 trucks year-to-date 2013 to 9,377 this year.
