Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA)’s Detroit Connect brand received the Best Telematics Service or Solutions for Commercial Vehicles award from Telematics Update. This award recognizes brands that have developed exceptional telematic solutions for a variety of commercial vehicles.

Telematics Update is the leading industry resource for telematics news, events and reports across the automotive, mobile and Internet industries. More than 400 nominations were received for the 2014 Telematics Update Awards from around the world, and the winners were selected by an expert panel of judges.

“We are proud that Detroit Connect was recognized as a leading solution by Telematics Update,” says Shawn Meredith, telematics strategy and product manager for Daimler Trucks North America. “The Detroit Connect telematics platform provides information for fleet operations through tools that deliver unsurpassed uptime, fuel efficiency, compliance, and safety. This award is a testament to Daimler Trucks North America’s commitment to provide customer value via our connected vehicles.”

Introduced in 2013, Detroit Connect features Detroit Virtual Technician onboard diagnostic system, Visibility fleet software, and the upcoming release of the On-Board Tablet, and is the industry’s first integrated OEM telematics solution for commercial drivers and fleet operators. Detroit Connect provides an essential link between driver and operator to improve both individual truck and fleet performance.
