Diesel hits 4 year high

Diesel prices continued their climb, rising 5.3 cents to $4.157 a gallon – the fifth consecutive increase.

This week’s price sets a high water mark as the the highest price in more than four years, the Department of Energy reported Tuesday.

This week’s diesel’s price is its highest since it posting $4.207 a gallon on Aug. 18, 2008. 

The surge puts diesel 19.7 cents higher than the same week last year.
