Diesel prices continue decline

Diesel prices continued their nearly three-month-long decline this week, dropping .5 cents to $3.918 per gallon.

This week’s price per gallon is down from $3.923 and is a decline for tenth of the last 11 weeks.

According to the Department of Energy (DOE), the string of downturn puts trucking’s principle fuel more than 23 cents below a $4.15 four-year high set on Oct. 15. Diesel is currently 13.5 cents higher than the same week a year ago.

Each week, DOE surveys about 350 diesel filling stations to compile a national snapshot average price.
