Fire damages Oregon Kenworth facility

Jason Cannon June 18, 2013

A two-alarm fire raged inside Papé Kenworth’s Portland, Ore. truck dealership last week, causing approximately $1 million in damages.

Portland Fire & Rescue Lt. Rich Chatman said the fire started inside a truck located in the dealership’s service facility and eventually spread to the roof and another truck. The fire damaged several trucks and much of the service area.

The fire sparked Friday at approximately 4:20 a.m., and fire fighters say heavy smoke was coming out of several doors when they arrived.
