Freightliner Cascadia gets Detroit AMT option

Successful Dealer Staff February 6, 2014

Daimler Trucks North America says the Detroit DT12 Automated Manual Transmission is now available in Detroit DD16-equipped Freightliner Cascadia sleeper and day cabs.

Best suited for heavier weight applications, the pairing allows the DT12 to cover all horsepower and torque ratings available from Detroit engines. All DT12 transmissions mated to DD16 engines will also have a dual plate clutch to channel the big-bore power of the engine.

These DT12 ratings will only be available with overdrive gearing, however customers can still get features such as Creep Mode for low-speed maneuverability, eCoast for efficient cruising and Skip Shift for smooth acceleration.

The DT12-DD16 pairing in the Freightliner Cascadia is now available to order.
