Frost & Sullivan Awards Grote Industries Its 2012 Technology Leadership Award

Denise Rondini November 13, 2012

Grote Industries announced it has received Frost & Sullivan’s 2012 Technology Leadership Award in the category of commercial vehicle lighting. Frost & Sullivan surveys companies in key international industries to determine how best-in-class companies worldwide manage growth, innovation and leadership.

Frost & Sullivan surveyed major lighting suppliers in the commercial vehicle industry and selected three leading companies for in-depth analysis. At the end of the analysis, Grote says it was selected as the leader. Selection criteria included new technology development, success in leveraging new technologies, level of R&D spending, industry customer brand perception, and product value for end-use customers. Grote says it had the highest scores in each of these categories and the highest score overall.

Frost & Sullivan singled out two technologies in which Grote has led the way.  The first was the introduction of and continuing LED lighting development for the commercial vehicle industry. The second technology was in Grote’s emerging ultra-thin film-based LightForm LED program, which has been in development for five years and is scheduled for marketplace introduction in 2013.

The F&S report stated, “Grote Industries, through its long-standing dedication to being technology leaders in safety lighting components, has been instrumental in developing advanced technology solutions that address the critical demands of daily truck operations, especially under the CSA regulation environment. Grote’s position as a market leader has driven acceptance of LED safety lighting in the commercial vehicle and trailer industries. Frost & Sullivan’s independent benchmarking confirms that Grote most certainly exhibits superior best practices and is therefore the recipient of the 2012 Technology Leadership Award.”
