June trailer orders jump 7 percent

Successful Dealer Staff August 1, 2013

On the backs of low cancellations and a jump in production, net trailer orders in June climbed 7 percent from May to 15,400 unit.

“June’s cancellation rate was only half of that posted in May,” says Frank Maly, director-CV Transportation with ACT Research. “It appears that fleets are standing firm with their order commitments.”

Maly said June saw a historical bump in production in the last month of a quarter, and that June hit the mark.

“Build reached the highest daily rate since December 2006,” he says.
