Lorimer retires from IPD

Successful Dealer Staff April 15, 2014

IPD announces Jack Lorimer has retired after 44 years in the heavy-duty industry.

Lorimer started his career with Gates Rubber Company in 1970. In addition, his career included being zone sales manager at Champion Parts Rebuilders, general manager at Patton Distributors, vice president of APS Inc. (Big A Auto Parts), vice president and general manager of Midland Heavy Duty Systems (now Haldex), president of Dacco Inc., director A/M, BorgWarner Turbo Systems, and most recently as CEO, BU Drive Inc. USA.

BU Drive USA recently entered into a joint venture with IPD, Inc., and a new company was formed, IPD Turbocharging Systems LLC. Lorimer has spent the last two months in a consulting position with IPD to help with a streamlined transition, the company says.

Lorimer also has been an active participant and frequent presenter at many of the industry’s leading associations and organizations, such as HDAW, Heavy Duty Forum, CFS, NWRA, ADS and others.

“As my retirement approaches I look back in amazement at the speed of which the last 44 years has gone by,” Lorimer says. “I am blessed to have had a long and satisfying career for which I was so passionately involved. I leave this industry with many fond memories, a great many wonderful stories and many dear friends and acquaintances. I want to thank the myriad of people who helped my career along the way. It would have been impossible to achieve my success without the support of my family, friends and colleagues along the way.”
