Nextran Truck Center founder murdered in Florida

Jason Cannon August 27, 2013

A former employee of Pritchett Trucking Inc. killed himself after fatally shooting his former boss and a coworker and wounding two others, multiple media outlets have confirmed.

A news release from the Union County Sheriff’s Office said Marvin Pritchett was killed Saturday morning when Hubert Allen Jr. drove to several locations and shot the four men. The other three men were Allen’s former co-workers.

The sheriff’s office says the 72-year-old gunman fatally shot the 80-year-old Pritchett and Rolando Gonzalez-Delgado at Pritchett’s farm before returning to his home in North Florida and fatally shooting himself.

Pritchett was the founder of Nextran Truck Center and Pritchett Trucking Inc.

Gainesville.com reported Allen left a suicide note, naming his four victims but it did not reveal a motive.

Ocala.com reported Pritchett was shot while driving to his farm, where Allen served as hired help “for decades”.
