Penske launches new mobile site for used trucks

PENSKE USED TRUCKSPenske Used Trucks has launched a new mobile website.

“Our full (used truck) inventory is available on the mobile site and we update it daily,” says Jack Mitchell, Vice President Remarketing at Penske Truck Leasing. “On any given day, there are 4,000 box trucks, tractors, trailers and related commercial transportation equipment listed for sale.”

The new mobile website for Penske Used Trucks has larger navigational items, simple icons and minimal text allowing smartphone users to search, compare and review the company’s catalog of vehicles for sale.

Tablet users are directed to Penske’s desktop version, but the company says web traffic from smartphones has been on the rise.

“Traffic to our site from smartphones has tripled over the past two years,” says Ann Cosfol, Director of Interactive Marketing, Penske Truck Leasing.

Customers still complete their used truck purchases by contacting Penske Used Truck’s call center at 1-888-803-5675. Penske’s innovative use of technology in marketing its used vehicles online recently earned it fourth place on the 2013 InformationWeek 500 list.
