Sales of trucks in Ohio see January jump

Jason Cannon February 8, 2013

Sales of commercial trucks, while small in volume, jumped in January according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association.

According to a report published by the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, sales soared 36 percent on the purchase of 198 heavy-duty trucks during the month. The newspaper cautioned, however, with such small numbers, a single large order could skew actual sales activity.

Heavy truck sales were up 40 percent locally last year, and sales have been strong nationwide as well, the newspaper reported.
