Sprinter van gets update, new engine

Jason Cannon May 14, 2013

The third generation Mercedes Benz Sprinter van launched this week in Dusseldorf, Germany.

It’s unveiling was not a massive redesign, but did offer significant upgrades throughout, including a new front end that places the Sprinter firmly in the current Mercedes style template.

CCJ Equipment Editor Jack Roberts, who travelled to Germany for the van’s launch this week, says park a new Sprinter next to an E-Class Mercedes sedan and the family resemblance is unmistakable.

The new Sprinter will begin appearing on both Freightliner and vocational-certified Mercedes-Benz dealerships on Sept. 1 of this year.
