Travis appoints new dealer

Travis Body & Trailer, Inc. has appointed Southern States Utility Trailer Sales, Inc. as its newest Independent Dealer.

With a principal office in Jackson, Miss., Southern States also has full service branch offices in Olive Branch, Miss. and Monroe, La.

Southern States Utility will represent the Travis line of aluminum end dumps, bottom dumps and transfer trailers in the northern two-thirds of Mississippi, in Western Tennessee, in Northern Louisiana, and in Southeast Arkansas.

Percy Thornton founded Utility Trailer Sales of Mississippi in 1982. In 2003, he opened Utility Trailer Sales of Memphis, and in 2005, opened their branch in Monroe, known then as Utility Trailer Sales of Louisiana.  In 2008, all the branches were combined under one new name, Southern States Utility Trailer Sales, Inc.

Mike Thornton is President & General Manager, and Andy Chandler is the Controller at their main office in Jackson. The Service Manager in Jackson is Jimmy Thompson. The corporate Parts Manager is Mike Cauthen, and the Jackson sales team members are Larry Beasley, Jeff Lawson and Donnie Lawrence and John Tharp.

The GM of Olive Branch is Randy Pirtle, and the Service Manager there is Mike Lewis. Salesmen are Brett Hudson and Rob Eady.

The Monroe GM/Service Manager is Rhodney Cook. Mike Evans is in sales.
