Truck Center Companies kicks off tech competition

Jason Cannon May 28, 2014

Truck Center Companies (TCC) kicked off its sixth annual Ultimate Tech competition Wednesday, pitting the company’s top two diesel techs from each of their dealerships in Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa against one another at the TTC training center in Omaha.

The winner will represent TCC at the National Super Tech competition in Orlando later this year and the top three scorers receive cash prizes at an internal awards program.

The winner of the TCC Ultimate Tech competition receives an all-expense paid trip for two to the Nationals, where 120 diesel techs from across the country will compete for the coveted Super Tech title. In the six years that TCC techs have participated, TCC has claimed two national event champions, and three top 25 winners.

TCC diesel techs complete a written exam to determine the top two scorers from each of their Freightliner dealerships and those techs face off in a day-long hands-on competition with nine different testing stations, including: brakes, engines, electrical, charging and starting, power train, HVAC, PMI, online resources and precision measuring.
