USA Truck renewing fleet, takes delivery of 150 ProStars

Jason Cannon November 12, 2013

USA Truck, Inc. says it has has received initial delivery of 150 2014 Navistar International ProStar model tractors slated for arrival throughout the fourth quarter of 2013 and into January 2014.

This new order follows the 250 new tractors and 400 new trailers purchased and put into service earlier this year.

The initial wave of replacement is part of an extensive fleet renewal effort on the part of USA Truck, the 44th highest rated fleet in the U.S. according to CCJ’s Top 250.

“…we will replace almost one-fifth of our company tractors in 2013,” says John Simone, President and CEO of USA Truck. “These new quality tractors are equipped with the latest technology needed to continue improving our fleet fuel efficiency and the amenities required to provide the comfort our driver team members deserve.”

Simone says the company is implementing several initiatives to enhance maintenance processes in order to reduce vehicle operating costs and improve operational execution, and will award the new tractors to driver team members based on tenure and safety performance.
