Vigillo Rolls Out CSA Intervention Manager
Vigillo – creators of data mining software products designed to aggregate, organize and deliver complex fleet safety information in an easy-to-read scorecard format – announced the release of its new Intervention Management Solution, the Vigillo Intervention Manager.
The Web-based application represents the eighth and newest product in the Vigillo Daylight Suite designed to give carriers, brokers, shippers, insurers and drivers the tools they need to succeed under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program.
Vigillo says its CSA experts developed the Intervention Manager after over a year of observing FMCSA in action at dozens of carrier interventions. By observing and understanding the actions taken by FMCSA during these onsite audits, Vigillo says it and its partners now can provide carriers with the tools needed to be constantly prepared.
Each month, more than 50,000 carriers are labeled with an alert status in one of the CSA BASICs. To better manage the volume of alerts, FMCSA developed a selection criteria and trained its enforcement officials on how to identify the specific high-risk Drivers, Vehicles and Crashes for focus during one of the intervention levels defined by the CSA program.
“Our Intervention Manager essentially mirrors this selection criteria,” says Steven Bryan, founder and chief executive officer of Vigillo. “It’s like having your own FMCSA auditor to prepare you in advance of an Intervention and essentially to keep you prepared at all times.”
Vigillo describes the Intervention Manager as an upgrade to the CSA Scorecard that couples its analytical power with an understanding of FMCSA’s selection criteria to pre-identify the specific Crashes, Drivers and Vehicles categories designated by the FMCSA as a priority during an Intervention. Vigillo will be offering Intervention Manager directly to its Scorecard subscribers and has developed a network of insurance and safety partners who will be authorized to offer the Intervention Manager at a discounted price to the carriers they serve.
According to Vigillo, the Intervention Manager:
• Automates hundreds of hours of manual paper processing to mimic FMCSA’s audit process and filter down to key audit targets in the Crashes, Drivers and Vehicles categories;
• Can be up and running quickly, which can be helpful if preparing for an intervention only days away;
• Offers an executive summary that focuses on intervention readiness 24/7, including daily updates and automated re-prioritization; and
• Offers peace of mind since intervention readiness is measureable and manageable.
”We really consider this new Intervention Manager as just a good safe way to do business,” says Bryan. “It allows you to be fully aware of your most critical data, which in turns helps you to be proactive instead of merely reactive when it comes to CSA.”
