Volvo truck deliveries dip 10% in NA

volvoVolvo AB said Friday its North American truck deliveries slid 2 percent in April versus a year ago.

Globally, deliveries fell 2 percent, with losses offset mostly by a 54 percent surge in South America.

The company said deliveries of its Volvo and Mack trucks in North America fell to 4,237 trucks from 4,712 a year ago.

Volvo truck North American deliveries slid 3 percent to 2,350 trucks, while Mack’s fell 17 percent to 1,848.

A small number of the company’s Renault and UD Trucks brands made up the remainder of the North American tally.

The year-over-year declines were smaller than the drops earlier in the year.
