Volvo truck deliveries down globally

Volvo Trucks decreased deliveries by 8 percent for the year 2012, the company said this week.

The Swedish truck maker delivered 105,888 units for the full year, compared to 115,346 in 2011.

December deliveries dragged down year-end numbers with an 18 percent slump.

The company closed 2012 with deliveries down 6 percent in Europe.

Deliveries in North America actually climbed 4 percent with 26,222 vehicles in 2012, compared to 25,229 units in 2011.

Deliveries in Asia dropped 18 percent and deliveries in South America decreased 24 percent.
