Wabash National offering TrailerTails as an option

Jason Cannon September 6, 2013

ATDynamicsWabash National and ATDynamics have reached an agreement to offer ATD’s TrailerTails as an option on select trailer dry van and refrigerated models, effective immediately.

Dana Stelsel, Corporate Communications Manager for Wabash, says TrailerTails can be installed on any of the company’s dry van or reefer trailers, and integrating TrailerTails into Wabash National production control systems offers customers a convenient and cost effective way to equip trailers with state-of-the-art aerodynamics technology for maximum fuel efficiency.

“Wabash National is an industry-leading manufacturer dedicated to innovation in trailer technology,” says Andrew Smith, CEO and founder of ATDynamics. “We are honored to be working closely with them to offer TrailerTails to leading North American fleets.”

According to the company, TrailerTails are lightweight, thermoplastic composite fairings that can be installed to the back of dry or refrigerated trailers to reduce low-pressure aerodynamic drag behind the trailer. They complement Wabash National’s DuraPlate AeroSkirt products, ATDynamics says, which reduce drag underneath the trailer.

Installation of TrailerTails is outsourced to a licensed vendor in Indiana.
