FTR has hired Todd Tranausky as senior transportation analyst.
In his new role, FTR says Tranausky will be responsible for content in FTR’s rail and intermodal services as well as developing additional analysis and commentary to support those market segments. Tranausky will also work to further develop ongoing relationships with customers, shippers, railroads, publications, and financial groups.
Immediately prior to joining FTR, Tranausky was Argus’ North American transportation editor, responsible for overseeing the quality of Argus’ existing transportation reports and leading the company’s new product development in this area, FTR says. He was responsible for editing the weekly Argus Coal Transportation newsletter along with overseeing the Argus Rail Business publication that focuses on rail and shipper dynamics, critical rate data, rail costs, and regulatory and operational issues in the rail industry. FTR says Tranausky also assessed rail and barge rates for the movement of petroleum products for the Argus Petroleum Transportation Report.
“Todd has a proven track record of developing insightful research and analysis of freight transportation. His expertise on the rail side, especially regarding rail shippers, will strengthen our analytic capabilities and open new areas of research. We look forward to Todd joining the FTR Team. His winning attitude and diverse skills will continue to fuel FTR’s growth in the marketplace” says Eric Starks, chairman and CEO of FTR.
